A while back, I was reading with a group of young people, and we needed to stop to understand the word,”enfleshment.” We talked about how it mean that God took on flesh – skin, bones, blood, snot, poop, muscles, pimples, nerve endings, and everything else it means to have flesh. We talked about how important our flesh, everything it means to be human, is so important to God, that Jesus took all of it to be one of us!
Then, in true to form, we renamed Christmas as “Enfleshment Day!” So, there you have it. Merry Enflehsment day. 🙂 If that doesn’t jump start you thinking about what the birth of Christ might mean to you, nothing will!
May the joy of Christ fill your hearts and give you the peace which passes all understanding today and throughout this season!
